Installation Guide — Step by Step

This installation requires pulling out the radio and accessing the connectors behind it. It takes about 30–45 minutes and requires basic tools (radio removal keys or a flat trim tool).

Step 1 — Pull out the factory radio
Use BMW radio removal keys (or a flat trim tool) to slide the radio out of the dashboard. Disconnect the existing plugs at the back and set the radio aside on a flat surface.

Step 2 — Connect the power wires
Locate the main wiring connector behind the radio. Connect the adapter's red wire to pin 5 (ACC 12V+, pink wire) — this ensures the adapter powers on with the ignition and never drains your battery. Connect the black wire to pin 15 (GND, brown wire).

Step 3 — Swap the CD changer connector
Unplug the existing red CD changer connector from the back of the radio. Plug in the new connector supplied with the adapter in its place — this is how the audio signal reaches your radio.

Step 4 — Connect the AUX cable
Plug the adapter's green AUX connector into the corresponding AUX input socket on the back of the radio.

Step 5 — Reinstall the radio
Slide the radio back into the dashboard. All connections should sit neatly behind the unit with no cables visible.

Step 6 — Activate AUX mode
Turn the ignition to ACC. Press the MODE button on the radio repeatedly until the display shows "AUX".

Step 7 — Pair your phone
On your phone, open Bluetooth settings and connect to the device named "sgbt…". Once paired, audio plays instantly through your factory speakers. Pairing is remembered — it reconnects automatically on every start.
