It connects directly to the CD changer port at the rear of the COMAND unit, where the radio recognises it as a CD player and routes Bluetooth audio through the factory speakers.

How It Works

The Mercedes-Benz COMAND APS 2.0 system (fitted in models from approximately 1996 to 2006) was designed before Bluetooth audio became standard. It supports an external CD changer via a proprietary multi-pin connector at the back of the radio unit. This adapter uses that same connector to inject wireless Bluetooth audio — the COMAND system simply reads it as an external CD source.

• The multi-pin connector plugs into the CD changer port at the rear of the COMAND unit
• The red and black power wires connect to a switched ACC 12V+ and 12V− source in the dashboard
• The clip-on external microphone mounts in the cabin for hands-free call audio

Installation Overview

1. Partially remove the COMAND APS 2.0 unit to access the rear connector panel

4. Route and clip the microphone near the driver (A-pillar or sun visor area)
5. On the COMAND screen, select CD Changer as the audio source
