Unlike larger Mercedes models where the console is further from natural hand position, the W176's compact cabin puts the button directly in the driver's reach zone, encouraging frequent, almost reflexive use.

The surface coating degrades from repeated fingertip pressure and the lateral movement of pressing and holding to tilt or fully open the panel. The printed sunroof icon disappears first, followed by the button developing a smooth, low-feedback feel that offers no tactile confirmation of which position it is in — particularly frustrating when operating the roof without looking up.
