This Bluetooth MDI adapter is compatible with Volkswagen models equipped with an MDI port and one of the following factory head units: RNS 510, RNS 315, or RCD 510 (Premium 8).

Please verify that your vehicle is equipped with an MDI port (located in the center armrest, glovebox, or center console) before ordering. This adapter is not compatible with the newer MIB (Modular Infotainment Platform) found in post-2013 facelifted models.

Understanding the MDI System — and Why This Adapter Exists

MDI (Media Device Interface) is Volkswagen's proprietary digital audio input system, introduced from around 2006 across vehicles equipped with the RNS 510, RNS 315, and RCD 510 (Premium 8) head units.
