This step-by-step DIY guide shows you how to swap a vent quickly without damaging the surrounding dashboard trim.
Tools Needed
- Plastic trim removal tool (recommended)
- No other tools required
Step 1 – Access the Vent
The three dashboard vents are mounted across the center of the F12 dashboard. All three use the same clip-in mounting system and can be removed individually without disturbing the others or removing any surrounding panels.
Step 2 – Remove the Old Vent
Insert a plastic trim tool into the gap around the vent surround.
Gently lever outward at several points around the perimeter to release the retaining clips.
Pull the vent unit forward carefully — it is held by clips only, with no screws.
Disconnect the air duct hose from the rear of the unit if fitted.
Step 3 – Install the New Vent
Connect the air duct hose to the rear of the new vent unit.
Align the vent with the dashboard opening.
Press firmly and evenly around the surround until all clips click into place.
