DIY-Tutorial

 

Estimated Time: 40 Minutes

Step 1: Tilt the Mirror Fully Down

Start by adjusting the mirror using the control switch on the driver-side door.

Tilting the mirror fully down creates space at the top of the mirror, giving you easy access to the mounting system.

Step 2: Remove the Mirror Glass

Carefully insert a plastic trim tool at the top edge of the mirror.

Gently pry to release the mirror glass. The mirror is held by strong clips and usually comes off without difficulty.

Once detached, place the glass on a clean cloth or surface to prevent scratches.

Step 3: Remove the Old Mirror Cap

With the mirror glass removed, you can access the inside of the mirror housing.

Release the old mirror cap by removing the two internal clips that secure it in place.

 

Pull the cap straight toward the front of the vehicle to remove it.

 

Step 4: Install the New Carbon Mirror Cap

Take your new carbon mirror cap and align the mounting tabs with the slots on the mirror housing (2 at the ends and 2 in the center).

Press firmly until you hear the clips snap into place.

Step 5: Reinstall the Mirror Glass

Align the mirror glass with the central circular clips.


It’s recommended to return the mirror to the slightly upward tilt used during removal.

 

Press gently in the center until you hear a click, indicating that the glass is securely installed.

Ensure the cap is perfectly aligned with the mirror housing for a seamless fit.

Step 6: Adjust the Mirror

Once the glass is reinstalled, use the electrical mirror controls to set the correct viewing angle.

Check that everything works properly and that rear visibility is optimal.
