1. Rotate the existing plug fully to the left and hold for approximately 30 seconds
2. Wait for the audible click — this signals the mechanism has released
3. Remove the plug cleanly from the fob
4. Seat the new plug into the fob opening
5. Rotate to the right until it locks into place

Tip: On some models, keeping your key fob outside the vehicle and out of signal range makes removal cleaner.
